Palette Cakes is a boutique bakery located at 7901 Fair Oaks Blvd, Suite C, Carmichael CA 95608. We specialize in artfully inspired cakes and desserts for Weddings and Events. We serve and deliver within the Greater Sacramento Area, Napa Valley, San Francisco Bay Area, Lake Tahoe Area, and beyond.
We offer Custom Cakes featuring handmade sugar flowers, ornate details, and plenty of charm. All designs are individually tailored to your unique style and event day. For Weddings and Events, we also offer a wonderful Dessert Menu featuring French inspired classics and elevated childhood favorites.
Outside of Weddings and Events, Palette Cakes is also open to the public every Friday-Sunday from 10:00am-2:00pm serving a seasonal dessert menu featuring Cupcakes, Individual Desserts, Cookies, and More! Palette Cakes’ bakery is a quick service bakery, intended to grab and go with your treats and pick up your pre-orders.

The People Behind Palette Cakes
KELLIE VELASQUEZ- Artist, Pastry Chef, & Owner
With an art background as a painter, Kellie Velasquez attended the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) to hone her baking and pastry skills. After her first year in school, she sought out the opportunity to work with world renowned Cake Designer, Maggie Austin, where she developed her fundamental skills with wedding cakes and design.
After completing the prestigious baking and pastry arts degree program at CIA, she held positions at some of San Francisco’s top bakeries, including Craftsman & Wolves, Susie Cakes, and Pastry Chef at the popular Jane the Bakery.
Mrs. Velasquez is passionate about great food, quality ingredients, and her art. Her love of baking and art stems from a young age and opening a bakery has been a dream of hers since she was a child. Mrs. Velasquez has been working in professional kitchens since she was 16 years old and has never steered away from this dream.
Kellie handles the baking, management, designing, and administrative tasks at Palette Cakes and can be found doing a little bit of everything!
CARLOS VELASQUEZ- Operations Manager, Baker & Owner
Carlos Velasquez grew up in the San Francisco area surrounded by incredible food and some of the best bakeries. Carlos’ love of food and quality ingredients stems from a young age. He was raised by a family of remarkable home cooks who truly spoiled him with the best meals (homemade tortillas, tamales, fresh baked bread, all of the best Guatemalan staples).
Mr. Velasquez career started off at Craftsman and Wolves as their delivery driver and this is also where he met Mrs. Velasquez. He previously worked as a Solar Foreman in the construction industry for 9 years while seamlessly helping build Palette Cakes and deliver hundreds of wedding orders. Since opening the Brick and Mortar bakery in 2024, Carlos has joined Palette Cakes full time and has become a phenomenal baker under Mrs. Velasquez’ training.
Mr. Velasquez has impeccable attention to detail, natural leadership skills, and his prior experience in the delivery world helps create a seamless delivery schedule for Palette Cakes. You will find Carlos behind the scenes helping manage the day to day, serving customers at the bakery, out on deliveries, baking away in the kitchen, and ironing out all the operations details.
